Wouldn’t you know that the morning of a beautifully planned outdoor ceremony it is pouring and thundering. And all we could think about is it better clear up in time for photos. We were shooting at the beautiful Skyview Golf Course in Sparta NJ for Mike and Katies wedding.
Rain . Rain . Rain . And yes you guessed it MORE RAIN. But that didn’t bother us much. That just meant we had to make amazing photos happen in doors. To our surprise it didn’t bother the bride and groom to much either. After all it was their wedding day and all that mattered is that they were there together. Enjoying the rain together.

So gorgeous and calm Katie was.
Katie and her bridesmaids enjoying a laugh together. And from the look on everyones faces you could tell it didn’t matter if it was raining out. It was their friends WEDDING DAY!
With the the ceremony well under way . . . . we could see . . . UTTTT WHAT’S THIS????
IT HAD STOPPED RAINING. With only a few drops left on the tents and golf course, and a slightly over cast sky all we could think about was don’t go anywhere sun. Just wait untill the ceremony is over and we are done taking photos.
And sure enough, we had NOTHING LESS THAN AMAZING weather at the most important perfect timing of the day.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!?
Now when we had first driven up to Skyviw Golf Course in Sparta NJ the first thing we noticed before we had pulled into the driveway was just up the road these great big white silo’s and red barn peice of amazing building. So naturally we had to go over there for photos with Mark and Katie. And boy it was worth it.
Do You See that Building??? How can you just pass it by when it is ever so close to where you are. You just can’t.
Naturally our first inclination was to get that bride on the SILO! And Katie looks amazing. This bride looks like she should be in a magazine.
Of course we had to put Mark the groom in there somewhere. And what better place then to have him kissing his bride.
At this point I had had Katie the bride on that ladder for a good 10 minutes while we were taking photos. And Yes in Heels. WORTH IT.
Mark and Katie. Husband and Wife.
You didn’t think we would leave without putting the bride and groom on the roof did you? Of course not.

And now it was time to head back so they could greet their guests, eat some food, and of course get down and dance.
I am going to admit. This was not an easy room to photograph. Not at this particular time of day anyway. The Sun was starting to set and it shined ever so brightly directly into the room and of course on the dance floor right on the bride and groom. The problem this causes is it is very hard to compete with the sun. Although it is picturesque in person the camera has a hard time reading with such contrasting lights. So we had to work with the sun. And make great photos like this happen. Of course you would never be able to tell the technical aspect of it from the photo but this is when a hired professional means the world. Knowing what to do in a difficult lighting situation such as this can either make or break a very special moment.

We LOVE when moments of emotion break out like this. It makes holding heavy cameras there for minutes at a time waiting for JUST the perfect moment absolutly worth while.
But of course we had to get one last shot before the sun comepletly set.
And with this we say CONGRATULATIONS KATIE AND MARK. And thank you for bringing the sun out with your love at the ceremony.
